The wickedly sharp and extremely strong Out-Turned Eye hooks are primarily intended for use with stiff monofilaments and fluorocarbon materials popular for pop-up sections on Hinged and Chod style rigs.
Additionally, they have a multitude of uses for bottom bait and D-rig presentations.The 15° angled OE is perfect for these tricky materials as it allows the hook to sit at a naturally aggressive and efficient angle, that doesn’t impact the hook’s gape.
The eye diameter and angle also help to maintain the perfect alignment between the hooklink material and the hook point – that means that the hook is easier to fine-tune with rigs tied with these hooklink materials.

Korda Longshank Beaked Hooks
The original Korda Longshank X was based on the popular, original fly hook patterns, which found favour with carp anglers due to their shape and hooking ability – we made them much stronger and sharper.
Fast forward 20 years and DF has been tweaking this ultimate carp catcher once again.
Heavily influenced by his underwater experiences, Dan decided to make two major changes to one of his favourite patterns, making it an even deadlier option within his armoury.
The first change was to create the hook with a beaked point.
During testing, the beaked point provided more secure hook holds, increasing the hooked fish to landed ratio significantly.
The other change was to in-turn the eye even further.
The original pattern has a 20 degree in-turned eye, the new beaked version increases this to 40 degrees.
This helps the hook flip and turn extremely quickly in the carp’s mouth, ensuring consistently good hook-holds.
In keeping with the original pattern, the Longshank Beaked is forged, with a stepped-up wire gauge for extra strength, whilst maintaining its durability with a PTFE coating.

ESP Cryogen Slammer Hooks
The point length has been increased to mirror the hugely successful Trig and Chod Hammers resulting in incredibly sharp hooks straight out of the packet.
On the two largest sizes 4 and 5 the wire gauge has been stepped up by 0.1mm for improved strength and the heavy forging helps accentuates this.
However due to the point length to wire diameter ratio used the points are still long, fine and needle sharp.
The twin tempering process of heat and cryogenic tempering ensures formidable strength and point durability with just the right degree of shock absorbing ‘spring’ – neither too soft nor too brittle.
As per all the other Cryogen hooks in the range, these feature a slick PTFE Tuflon coating and micro barbs which ensure excellent penetration and secure hook holds.
Enlarged eye diameters pro-rata across the range of sizes allow for thicker monofilaments to be used with the knotless knot.Features:

ESP Cryogen Stiff Rigger HooksCompared with its predecessor the Mk-2, the super sharp point is longer and finer and more inclined towards the shank for a stronger shape.
The point is also in-line with the 13 degree out-turned eye so all the force is straight along the point section of the hook, rather than across the gape making them incredibly strong.
Heavy forging and PTFE Tufflon coating plus no discernible increase in wire gauge but with superior strength makes this the perfect pop-up hook! Over three years of development and the last two years spent thoroughly field testing prototype samples has culminated in the launch of a new range of hooks that we believe sets a new standard in strength and point durability. New manufacturing techniques including both high temperature and cryogenic tempering have produced significantly stronger hooks with more durable, long life points.
Cryogenic tempering is a process used to improve the molecular structure of steel which in turn reduces stress and improves strength and wear resistance. It is used in many disciplines with Formula 1 engine parts being a classic example. Bench tests on initial samples proved to us that the new tempering processes combined with improved designs and heavy forging resulted in hooks that were 25-30% stronger than other Tufflon coated carp hooks in the same wire gauge.
So rather than having to improve strength by simply increasing wire gauge, new manufacturing processes have allowed us to maintain optimum wire gauges for each size which allow for fine, ultra-sharp needle points which are now more durable than ever. Over an exhaustive two-year field testing period where the hooks were used by around 15 independent specialist carp anglers plus ESP consultants Terry Hearn, Kev Hewitt and Martin Bowler, feedback has been wholly positive from everyone.
In fact, we have barely heard of a point turning over let alone a hook gaping out! Over those two years, a serious amount of big carp have been caught on the new hooks from a wide variety of waters and every angler who has used them came back wanting more!

We have been getting asked for a while for a chod / stiff rigger hook with an ultra-sharp beaked point and have answered those pleas with a hook that has even converted a few straight point devotees through the testing process!
Although hook choice is often down to personal preference rather than exact science, a beaked point can provide extra assurance especially in weedy or snaggy conditions, with unbeatable hook holds - and so they have proved through the testing process.
Made in the same wire gauges as the Cryogen Stiff Riggers, making them the perfect pop up hook, the Grip Riggers feature heavy forging and of course the Cryogen treatment making them incredibly strong with durable points.

The new Beaked Chod hook draws its design heritage from the popular TA Curve Point hook pattern.
By adjusting the eye of this awesome pattern and upping the wire gauge to make it utterly bulletproof, it’s now perfect for use in conjunction with fluorocarbon and specialized stiff hooklink materials.
Beaked Chod hooks have a multitude of uses, ranging from bottom bait, Multi-Rigs, and D-style presentations.
The 15° angled out-turned eye works perfectly with these tricky materials as it allows the hook to sit at a naturally aggressive and efficient angle and doesn’t restrict the hook’s generous gape.

Korda Kurv Shank X
The Kurv Shank is a very versatile hook and can be used with both pop-up and bottom bait rigs, including popular presentations such as the KD and IQ D-rig.
It has great hooking properties thanks to an aggressively in-turned eye and curved shank, which helps it to flip round and take a hold inside the mouth, even when using it without Shrink Tube or a Kicker.
Hooking potential is also aided by its long, needle sharp point.

Korda Krank Choddy Hooks
Like the original Krank hook, the Krank Choddy was designed by head of product development, Tom Dove, after he noticed that the shape of the shank would be perfect for chod rig presentations.
The Krank Choddy is the same shape as the original Krank, but with an out-turned eye, so that when used with a stiff material such as Mouth Trap there is a continuous curve all the way along the hook link and hook shank, making it the ultimate chod presentation.
It has a razor sharp beaked point, which is slightly offset with a very wide gape, to increase the hooking potential and ensure that you get a good hook hold.
It is a very strong pattern that is suitable for use in weedy and snaggy situations.Key features

We took our most popular Wide Gape hook and made a few design tweaks. The result is our ultra sharp and strong Straight Point hook.
By elongating the shank we’ve made the Straight Point slightly longer than the Wide Gape and we’ve in turned the eye by 15 degrees. The biggest design feature, however, is the tapered, eye-wateringly sharp, straight point. The end result is creating one of the most versatile and efficient hooks we’ve ever made.
Strength and durability were also a key consideration when designing this hook. We’ve stepped up the gauge of the Japanese steel making this hook as strong as the other X gauge hooks in our range. It’s been forged and PTFE coated ensuring lasting durability whilst maintaining a razor-sharp point straight out of the packet.
The Straight Point’s versatility was a critical part of the design process. Whether you’re fishing pop-ups on Spinners or wafters on D-Rigs this hook has got you covered. They come with intermediate sizing and can be used for most modern carp rigs out there.
