Carp Hooks
Korda Korda Long Shank X Hooks
Korda Long Shank X Hooks This hook was based on the popular, original fly hook patterns, which found favour with carp anglers due to their shape and hooking ability – but this is a much stronger and sharper version of that pattern. This pattern is one of the original styles of hook in carp fishing, but is still just as effective today with modern rigs, thanks to a 20 degree in-turned eye, long shank and straight point, which ensures that it flips over and takes a hold very easily, ensuring consistently good hookholds. The Longshank X is also very strong and can stand up to being used on snaggy and weedy waters, thanks to the forging on the bend and the gauge of wire used. Key features Long shank and inturned eye Straight, sharp point Great for snaggy or weedy waters

Korda Korda Klor Hook
Korda Klor Hook The Klor hook pattern was designed and created by Danny Fairbrass to be an aggressive, strong, fast turning hook with brilliant hooking potential with a variety of rigs. It is incredibly strong and proven to be able to withstand fishing for big carp in extreme conditions, both at home and abroad. The Klor has a very aggressive shape (even more so than our Kurv Shank hook), with the point in line with the eye, and this encourages it to turn quickly and take hold in the mouth of a carp. It is suitable for use with all manner of rigs, including the Combi Rig and Spinner Rig presentations, and with bottom baits, pop-ups and wafters. The point is long, ultra-sharp and slightly in-turned which makes it far less likely to be damaged by nuisance species, such as crayfish and small fish, moving it around on the bottom, especially when fishing over gravel. The wire is a heavy gauge, and this results in a very strong hook which can be used in weedy or snaggy conditions, even when using braid, without fear of it bending out. During testing Danny landed carp to over 60lb from wild, French waters that were full of snags. Despite the thickness of the wire, the point remains very sharp and the whisker barb, once the hook goes in, will ensure it stays in place. Key features Aggressive, strong, fast turning Incredibly strong Suitable for all manner of rigs Long, ultra-sharp point Heavy gauge 10 per pack

Drennan ESP Cryogen Curve Shanx Hooks
ESP Cryogen Curve Shanx Hooks These Curves are now around 25% stronger than their predecessors while still retaining long fine needle sharp points which are now extra durable. These are highly effective in a whole variety of rig presentations (perfect for the Ronnie Rig) and their quick turning, anti-eject shape combined with a needle sharp point ensures exceptional hook holds. The initial launch of ESP Cryogen hooks in March 2016 caused a massive stir with discerning anglers quickly recognising the distinct technical advantages they offered. They were the result of over three years of development and field testing which culminated in a new standard in strength and point durability. New manufacturing techniques including both high temperature and cryogenic tempering have produced significantly stronger hooks with more durable, long life points. Cryogenic tempering is a process used to improve the molecular structure in steel which in turn reduces stress and improves strength and wear resistance. It is used in many disciplines with Formula 1 engine parts being a classic example. Bench tests on initial samples proved to us that the new tempering processes combined with improved designs and heavy forging resulted in hooks that were 25-30% stronger than other PTFE coated carp hooks in the same wire gauge. We subsequently sent the hooks for independent scientific testing on hardness and tensile strength and the tests carried out confirmed and supported our initial findings. So rather than having to improve strength by simply increasing wire gauge, new manufacturing processes have allowed us to maintain optimum wire gauges for each size which allow for fine, ultra-sharp needle points which are now more durable than ever. ESP is now delighted to introduce three new patterns into the Cryogen range, with each type having been developed, tested and 'tweaked' over the last 18 months. They have proved outstanding in field testing and provide an even greater choice in high-performance, long-lasting carp hooks. Features: Three years of development Cryogenically tempered Incredibly strong Durable ultra sharp needle points Long straight points Tufflon coated Barbless and Micro Barbed

Drennan ESP Cryogen Trig-Hammer Hooks
ESP Cryogen Trig-Hammer HooksA new long shank pattern that has proved outstanding during field testing. Ultra-sharp, long fine needle points combined with an aggressive shape that achieves incredibly secure hook holds. Especially affective on Ronnie’s and also bottom bait rigs where it ‘flips and pricks’ instantly. Made using the same twin tempering process as the existing Cryogen hooks which results in exceptional strength and point durability. The relative proportions of a long subtly curved shank, 9° in-turned eye, wide gape and long hypodermic like point result in a hook pattern that is incredibly effective. On Ronnie rigs the hook point is in an aggressive poised position making it a very efficient hooker with superb hook holds and it is equally effective on bottom bait rigs, where the hook is very difficult to eject and turns and catches hold securely even without the aid of a line aligner or ‘kicker’. Features: Years of development Cryogenically tempered Incredibly strong Durable ultra sharp needle points Tufflon coated Micro-barbed and Barbless

Korda Korda Kamakura Choddy Hooks
Korda Kamakura Choddy Hooks The Kamakura sharpening process produces a hook point which is every bit as good as a hand-sharpened hook, but without you having to go to all the time and effort involved in doing it yourself. The Kamakura Choddy hook has been specifically designed for use with stiff hook links and rig presentations such as the chod rig or hinged stiff rig, but it can also be used with other pop-up presentations as well. It has an out-turned eye, to help give a continuous curve from the hook link to the hook when using stiff presentations, and the rest of its shape is based upon the iconic Wide Gape pattern, albeit in a slightly thicker wire. It is an incredibly strong hook, with a slightly curved point, and the barb is of a size that doesn’t hinder penetration, but once in, helps the hook stay securely in place. The points are protected by a blob of wax which needs to be carefully removed before use, and they come supplied in a box which holds each individual hook securely in place – you get ten hooks in each box.Key features Based on the ortiginal Choddy pattern Incredibly sharp and fine point Point protected by wax Micro Barbed or barbless

Gardner Tackle Gardner Covert Dark Mugga Hooks
Gardner Covert Dark Mugga Hooks The legendary Mugga hook pattern has been pivotal in the capture of countless big carp. The latest Covert Dark Mugga hooks have been given a facelift with several key improvements that make them even better! Firstly, we have totally re-specified the shape and length of the Mugga’s point so they are longer and much sharper than before. The new long tapered points are a massive step up and ensure the hook pricks and penetrates even quicker. Next, we have swapped over to the new stripped down Covert Dark plating. This new finish still offers excellent camouflage thanks to the matt finish, and also ensures that we keep the sharpest possible point on the hook as it is a single electroplated finish and the reduction in handling during the finishing process means the points remain immaculate and razor sharp. We’ve also upgraded to a micro barb on all the new Covert Dark Hooks. This offers two major benefits. Firstly, many commercial fisheries require anglers to use patterns with small barbs as it is kinder to the fish’s mouth, and secondly micro barbed hooks are stronger as less wire is cut out to form the barb. This combined with the longer chemically etched point has made the Covert Dark Mugga a truly awesome hook. If you look at the design of the Mugga it’s not hard to see why it offers unrivalled hooking potential when used with a variety of hooklink materials. The aggressive hooking action and strong hook holds that the pattern gives are due to a combination of key features working perfectly together. The combination of a sweeping, slightly curve shank and a 25° in-turned eye cause the hook to flip as soon as the hooklink tightens or the hook eye reaches the edge of fish’s lip. This unique action means that the hook will take hold firmly in the corner of the mouth or in the bottom lip without having to add shrink tube to improve a less effective ‘similar’ pattern. After this the orientation between the hook eye and the super sharp straight point creates the best possible angle to aid the hook penetrating quickly and securely. Simply, this means you will land more fish. Covert Dark Mugga hooks are constructed using a forged, high carbon wire that has been double tempered to ensure they are amazingly strong relative to the wire gauge.*Heavier gauge ‘Continental Mugga’ hooks are available for anglers that need the strongest possible Mugga hooks. Gardner Covert Dark Mugga hooks feature: COVERT DARK matt finish. Longer, sharper chemically etched straight point. Short curved shank and 25˚ in-turned. Manufactured from forged, double tempered, high carbon steel wire for strength. Barbed or Barbless. Supplied as 10 hooks per packet.

Thinking Anglers Thinking Anglers Curve Point Hooks
Thinking Anglers Curve Point Hooks The Curve Point hook pattern combines a super sharp curved hook point and in-turned eye and is also finished in our super slippery PTFE coating. The hook pattern wants to bury itself quickly thanks to the angle of pull naturally created by combining the in-turned eye and super-sharp swept hook point. This is enhanced by the slick PTFE coating and the point’s long tapered profile. As soon as the fish is pricked the hook is embedding itself more and more securely, ensuring more pick-ups are translated into fish in the net. The durable swept point is perfectly suited to fishing over rock hard gravel areas where the critical sharpness of the point could be compromised when feeding carp disrupt the area where the rig is laying. Forged from a strong heavy gauge wire, the Curve Point is the classic pattern for boilie and particle fishing hard on the deck. The pattern is truly versatile and has proven to be the perfect pattern to use in combination with the phenomenal Noodle rig. Key features/specifications: PTFE Coating for optimum penetration. Strong double tempered heavy gauge high carbon steel. Long, tapered swept hook point. 18° in-turned eye.

Fox Tackle Fox Edges Arma Point Zig & Floater Hook
Fox Edges Arma Point Zig & Floater Hook It had to happen! Our Edges range of terminal tackle has taken the carping world by storm over the past three years with anglers across the globe appreciating that we had taken rig component design to a whole new level. There was of course one item of terminal tackle that our product development team hadn’t given the Edges treatment too, and that quite simply is because it has taken them many years to design, develop and test this range. We haven’t simply picked up a hook manufacturers catalogue and picked a few patterns off the shelf, oh no, we have drawn up the patterns from scratch using the latest CAD software packages to ensure that every single detail in every single pattern is exactly how they need to be for the modern carp angler. Every eye, point and shank on every pattern has been designed to our specifications to ensure that they perform exactly how the modern angler needs them to. The end result is an Edges Arma Point hook range that features eight patterns, and that are in our opinion and that of our angling consultants, the strongest and sharpest out of the packet hooks you will find on the market.
