FTX is an incredible, user-friendly pure Fluorocarbon main line which has been developed and consequently rigorously tested over a period of years…
Fluorocarbon main lines offer unequalled ‘tip to terminal’ camouflage thanks to the material’s exceptional high-molecular density.
Essentially, it is so heavy and sinks so effectively that it naturally settles down unobtrusively, better than any other monofilament line.
That single key fact ensures that the fish are less likely to encounter it, and we all know that a carp that is not aware it’s being angled for will always be a lot easier to catch than one that is on edge, and makes it the number ‘1’ choice for many of us.
‘Standard’ white (clear) Fluorocarbons have always had an Achilles heel – the materials’ blatant visibility in angling situations where it is held off the lakebed by bands of thick weed or steep-sided topographical features.
White Fluorocarbon ‘glows’ in daylight as soon as it collects particulate, but the unique tint applied to FTX effectively absorbs much of this light, making it far less visible in this scenario.
Drops on FTX feel crisp and positive thanks to the reduced stretch characteristics of the Fluoro, making it an ideal option for anglers that are meticulous about hookbait placement – it’s also a great option for anglers fishing waters where braided mainlines are prohibited.
FTX Fluorocarbon has a long working life as it is not affected by UV, is supremely hard wearing and doesn’t absorb water (so doesn’t go through dry/wet cycles.) Whereas copolymers need to be changed at least annually, this material will last several seasons in our experience…
It is extremely easy to knot too – for optimum knot strength we recommend either a five-turn Grinner, a two-turn Tucked Blood, or Figure-of-Eight Loop knots (for loop-to-loop leader connections). All of these achieve consistently strong and ultra reliable knots.
This superb line is available in two breaking strains, 14lb (0.35mm) and 16lb (0.37mm) and is supplied on level wound 200m and 600m spools, with the 600m spools having line markers at 200m, 300m and 400m so you can split it 2 or 3 ways.
Korda Subline Tapered Mainline 12-40lb
Tapered SUBline has all of SUBline’s fast-sinking, abrasion resistant-properties, but the line tapers into an integral shock leader at each end.
No knots are necessary; if you snap off and lose one, all you have to do is wind the line onto a new spool to reveal the other!
Because there are no leader knots involved, the risk of ‘frapping up’ on big casts is massively reduced and there is nothing for weed to collect on or for a lead system to jam against.
This line was designed for extreme-range casting, but the extra diameter also acts as a robust snag leader.
Each tapering leader is 15 metres long, but can be cut down by a maximum of five metres for super-long range, when every last yard counts.

The high-viz fluoro green colour helps deter gulls when spodding. Korda SLR Braid
SLR stands for ‘super long range’ and this braid has been designed so that you can cast your spod or marker float to the horizon – in fact, your only limit will be how far you can cast your rigs with your fishing rods!
SLR Spod/Marker Braid is incredibly thin diameter and is constructed from a single strand, meaning that it can effortlessly be cast ridiculous distances, as well as having virtually no stretch and allowing you to feel every stone on the lake bed.
Due to it being so thin, you will need to use a shockleader with it, and we would recommend 30lb Arma-Kord, which creates a knot which will go through your rod rings without getting caught (stiffer leader materials can cause problems with frap-ups).
It comes in a subtle green colour and is supplied on a 300m spool.

Korda Zig Line 7lb**
When zig fishing you will usually get more action if you are fishing as subtly as possible whilst still giving yourself a high chance of landing anything that you hook.
As the hook link material is sticking straight up off of the bottom, it needs to be as unobtrusive as possible, and Zig Line was developed specifically for this purpose.
It has a subtle green tint to help it blend in and is a low diameter for its breaking strain, whilst still offering enough strength and abrasion resistance to land anything that you hook, and also knotting very well.
The 7lb version has a diameter of just 0.22mm for 7lb breaking strain, with each being supplied on a 100m spool.
