Korda Mini Heli-Safe The Mini Heli-Safe is a scaled down, compact version of the original and retains all of the features that helped to make it such a huge success… plus a few more. It still works in exactly the same way, which was revolutionary when the Heli-Safe first hit the market. We were able to arm anglers with a way to fish any helicopter style presentation, but with the ability to drop the lead as soon as a fish was hooked. This was a massive advantage in weedy or snaggy situations, or when using set-ups such as chod rigs. The Heli-Safe also allowed anglers to fish in this way quickly and effectively, simply by attaching a lead to the system, and the product did the rest, releasing the lead as soon as your hook link swivel pulled against the top of the bead. Technology has moved on since then, and we have managed to make the system much smaller, which not only makes it less obtrusive on the lake bed; but also reduces drag through the air and will improve your distance when fishing at extreme range; as well as making it less likely to get caught in weed or snags during the fight, once the lead has been jettisoned. Aside from being more compact, the biggest difference to the original is that it now has three different ways that it can be set – it comes fitted with the normal tensioning spring that you will be familiar with from the original and which allows the lead to be dropped as soon as there is any pressure on the top of the Heli-Safe; but is also now supplied with a red spring which requires significantly more pressure to be applied before it ejects the lead, and is perfect in situations where you only need to get rid of the lead on the odd occasion and the lake is fairly clear of weed and snags; it also still comes with a collar, like the original, that prevents the lead from being ejected at all. The Mini Heli-Safe comes supplied with a size 11 half barrel swivel and can either be fished naked or with leadcore. Despite its smaller size, it is still incredibly strong and can withstand the force of using any of the leads in our range, even when casting extreme distances. Korda Quick Release Leadclip The Quick Release Lead Clip is designed to be used in situations where you need to drop the lead as soon as the fish is hooked, such as when fishing weedy or snaggy lakes and it is imperative to do so in order to give you the best chance of landing it. The retaining arm is totally smooth to aid ejection, and the back end of the body has specially engineered grooves moulded into it, which prevent the tail rubber from gripping too tightly and ensuring that it comes off with minimal pressure. Korda Basix Mini Stow This is a smaller version of the famous Stow bobbins, which were developed on the banks of Elstow Lake and have been used by many members of Team Korda for years. The principle behind this bobbin is that it can be fished with both tight and slack lines, and when you get a take, the line releases from the clip on the side of it. For that to happen the stainless steel ball chain which it is fitted to needs to be the same length as your bite alarm, and a detachable connector system allows you to easily adjust it so that it is compatible with any buzzer (it comes set at the correct length for use with something like a Delkim, or similar sized alarm). It comes fitted with a stainless steel weight, but the 6g and 8g Overweights, which are sold separately as part of the Stow range, can also be used with it. The Basix Mini Stow can be fitted with a Mini Isotope (available in seven different colours), and is fitted below your bite alarm using a moulded hockey stick, which the ball chain screws into. Korda Solidz PVA Leader As the name suggests, these leaders are designed specifically for use with Solidz PVA bags. They are constructed from 1ft of 50lb Kable leadcore, to ensure that everything stays pinned to the bottom, with a Size 8 Ring Swivel spliced at one end (if you prefer you can cut the ring off and just use it as a normal swivel) – which ensures they work perfectly with an inline lead and the swivel properly locates into the nose of it. Korda Chod Rigs Long The Chod Rig is an extremely effective set-up for fishing over debris on the bottom whilst knowing that your hookbait will always be presented in a way that a carp can still take it, and is a great option for casting to where you’ve seen fish showing, without causing loads of disturbance trying to find a clear spot. Korda Beads Originally designed for use with our Flying Backleads, where they sit above the leader knot and prevent the backlead from sliding all the way down to the lead. These soft rubber beads are also perfect for helicopter set-ups, including chod rigs, as they have a tapered bore which helps them to easily pass over leader knots. Korda Krusha Crushed bait is a great addition to any PVA bag or spod mix, as it releases flavour faster and also breaks down quicker than whole baits do.
