Korda Krank X Hooks This pattern has been a huge seller since Tom Dove first came up with it back in 2014, and has accounted for countless big fish both at home and abroad, and even some monsters of other species well in excess of 100lb, in Thailand. The unique shape features a very wide gape, with quite a short, curved shank into a slightly in-turned eye – the in-turned effect is accentuated by the shape of the shank and the way it sweeps round to the eye. The point, which is slightly beaked, is offset and this shape helps it to ‘Krank’ its way in once it takes an initial hold. These hooks are very strong, and feature a micro barb which won’t hinder penetration, but once in, will ensure that the hook stays in place. A barbless version is also available. The Krank can be used with a wide variety of different rigs and is incredibly effective even with a simple knotless knot, or it can be used on more complicated set-ups, such as the Spinner Rig which Tom Dove favours himself. Created to sit over the barrel of a size 11 swivel, these precisions engineered weights counter balance a buoyant hook bait on your chosen rig. Korda Flying Backlead These are an updated version of our original Safe Zone Flying Back Leads and have been redesigned so that they can be used with either mono or braid. The Flying Back leads are designed so that they come back up your main line during the cast and help to pin as much line as possible to the lake bed. A clever slotted insert allows them to be removed from your line simply by twisting it until it aligns with the slot on the backlead, so it is easy to switch between different sizes as required. This slotted design doesn’t work well with braid though and it can easily get trapped in the slot, so they also come supplied with a special insert specifically for use with braided lines. A small rubber bead is used as a buffer when the Flying Back Lead is sat above your leader knot (assuming that you are using a Dark Matter or Kable leader) prior to the cast. Korda Total Dissolve PVA String Traditional PVA string which is ideal for adding stringers to your rigs. It is very strong, so will take the impact of a hard cast, and as long as you leave a gap between your baits, it will melt quickly once in the water. Korda Arma Kord Braid This braided leader material is incredibly tough and abrasion resistant, making it a great choice of shock or snag leader material. It is thin for its breaking strain and as well as being tough, it is also supple enough that it casts very well when being used as a shockleader, such as when spodding. Korda Wide Gape XX Hooks Micro Barbed This is a really classic pattern of hook and the Wide Gape has accounted for a huge number of big carp captures over the many years since it was first launched. It is based on an old classic spade end hook pattern from the 1980s and 1990s which found favour with many anglers at the time – the Maruta Kinryu – but we have improved it and made it more user-friendly by switching the spade for an eye. The Combi-Multi Kickers have been designed in conjunction with Darrell Peck. These rubber kickers are an essential part of his well-documented Combi Multi Rig. Suitable for use with the Wide Gape pattern of hook, these kickers not only extend the shank of the hook, but they also hold the braided, quick-change section of the Combi Multi Rig in place. To change your hook, simply slide back the kicker to release the loop. Once a fresh hook is in place, slide the kicker back over the eye to lock your hookbait in the desired position. Like Darrell, if you prefer to use the ‘line aligner’ technique, simply use a baiting needle to pierce the soft rubber and pull through the braided section.
