Drennan AS2 Pole Float
The AS2 has been designed and developed in conjunction with five-time World Champion Alan Scotthorne.
Available in six sizes from 0.1g to 0.6g, it features a thickened 0.6mm spring stainless wire stem for improved stability compared to glass or carbon.
The stem is also only bonded halfway into the bulbous body, rather than continuing up into the bristle, to improve the float’s balance and behaviour without adding unnecessary weight and detracting from the buoyancy.
Alan has field-tested these floats extensively and is happy that the thicker stem will withstand plenty of abuse from catching big bags of carp!
The float bodies themselves are remarkably concentric with very little or no misalignment of the stem and tips to the body.
Made from light grade balsa for maximum buoyancy to size ratio, they are coated in an extremely tough acrylic paint ensuring a strong shell-like construction, preventing line damage when under extreme pressure from big fish.
The AS2 body is slightly more bulbous than the AS1 and it features a hollow, 1.75mm diameter, buoyant, glow tip that can easily be seen in varying light conditions.
The shape and bristle diameter are ideal for presenting larger baits for carp and other quality fish.
The extra buoyancy can help you to distinguish true bites from line bites caused by fishing brushing against the rig.
Glow tips on AS pole floats are reinforced through the section where they join the body.
This strengthens the hollow buoyant tip at a critical point and provides an extra strong foundation for the eye.AS floats also feature a double wound stainless steel eye mounted at the base of the tip. Being placed here offers the mechanically strongest position without piercing the body, and risking water ingress, therefore affecting the floats performance.
Being double wound (i.e. the eye is fully round) means the line cannot get trapped and damaged as is often the case with conventional, single wound, U-shape eyes.
These special eyes are also made of blackened stainless steel to match the body, giving a more distinct demarcation line to the glow tip, so bites are easier to spot!

Drennan Crystal Dibber*
The multi-award-winning Drennan Crystal Dibber has revolutionised carp fishing in shallow water! Drennan’s unique Crystal technology was once just the domain of wagglers and running-line floats – but it has now entered the realm of pole floats!
We believe we are the only manufacturers in the world capable of ‘blow-moulding’ these super-tough pole float bodies to such a small, exacting size.
Our latest machine is even smaller than that used to create our famous Puddlechucker pellet wagglers.
An obvious advantage of a Crystal Dibber is how unobtrusive it is in clear or shallow water.
A solid-coloured pole float casts a distinct shadow and is much more visible to fish feeding up in the water or in the marginal shallows and so cannot compare to a see-through design like this.
That means a fish is less easily spooked and much more willing to venture towards your hook bait.
This is a major advantage when fishing up in the water for any species, from carp and F1s to roach and chub.
Ultimately, it will mean more bites and more fish in the net!
These floats are just as light and buoyant as balsa and more buoyant than foam, so nothing is compromised.
The short, unobtrusive design is ideal for most shallow water applications while the domed glow tip is easy to locate above the surface.
The float body is ultra tough and durable while a bonded glass stem is a good compromise between the stability of a wire stem and the extra durability of carbon.
The floats also feature a conventional looking side eye that is almost impossible to pull out in normal use.
This is thanks to a unique way of attaching it. Instead of piercing the body and being angled downwards, the side eye is actually angled upwards and cleverly fused in place between the pole float body and the fluorescent ‘cap’ of the domed tip!
In tests, these floats take on almost chameleon-like properties in the water. Some of our consultants have even commented how anglers on adjacent pegs thought they were not even using a float!
When it comes to shallow fishing, the Crystal Dibber really is the next step in pole float evolution!

Ring swivels provide plenty of movement for your rigs, but if you want even more flexibility then these PTFE Double Ring Swivels are the perfect solution.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) has one of the lowest friction coefficients of any solid material, which makes it perfect for coating swivels as it reduces any friction between the barrel and the eye, and the freer spinning they are, the less chance there is of tangles, plus can make some rigs more efficient as well when it comes to hooking fish.
So not only do these swivels offer plenty of movement as a result of featuring a ring at both ends, they also allow those rings to spin around independently of each other in the smoothest way possible.
Great for helicoper rigs, but also have all sorts of other uses. The PTFE Double Ring Swivel comes in size 11 and with eight in a pack.
