ESP Cryogen Trig-Hammer HooksA new long shank pattern that has proved outstanding during field testing. Ultra-sharp, long fine needle points combined with an aggressive shape that achieves incredibly secure hook holds.
Especially affective on Ronnie’s and also bottom bait rigs where it ‘flips and pricks’ instantly.
Made using the same twin tempering process as the existing Cryogen hooks which results in exceptional strength and point durability.
The relative proportions of a long subtly curved shank, 9° in-turned eye, wide gape and long hypodermic like point result in a hook pattern that is incredibly effective.
On Ronnie rigs the hook point is in an aggressive poised position making it a very efficient hooker with superb hook holds and it is equally effective on bottom bait rigs, where the hook is very difficult to eject and turns and catches hold securely even without the aid of a line aligner or ‘kicker’.
Features:
Years of development
Cryogenically tempered
Incredibly strong
Durable ultra sharp needle points
Tufflon coated
Micro-barbed and Barbless
ESP Cryogen Claw Hammer Hooks
Claw-Hammers have a sweeping beaked point ideal for fishing over gravel and for assured hook holds in thick weed. Perfect when used with bottom bait combi / flipper type rigs. With longer, finer points this wide gape pattern accounted for a lot of big carp over 12 months of field testing!
Incredibly sharp straight out of the packet, ardent hook sharpeners like Gaz Fareham have been testing without reaching for the file. Together with a slick PTFE Tuflon coating and micro barbs these ensure excellent penetration. The wire gauge has been stepped up on the two largest sizes by 0.1mm and heavy forging improves strength even further.
The point length to wire diameter ratio ensures the points are still long, fine and needle sharp!
The twin process of heat and cryogenic tempering ensures formidable strength and point durability with just the right degree of shock absorbing ‘spring’ – neither too soft nor too brittle.
Enlarged eye diameters allow for thicker monofilaments to be used with the knotless knot.

ESP Cryogen Curve Shanx Hooks
These Curves are now around 25% stronger than their predecessors while still retaining long fine needle sharp points which are now extra durable.
These are highly effective in a whole variety of rig presentations (perfect for the Ronnie Rig) and their quick turning, anti-eject shape combined with a needle sharp point ensures exceptional hook holds. The initial launch of ESP Cryogen hooks in March 2016 caused a massive stir with discerning anglers quickly recognising the distinct technical advantages they offered.
They were the result of over three years of development and field testing which culminated in a new standard in strength and point durability. New manufacturing techniques including both high temperature and cryogenic tempering have produced significantly stronger hooks with more durable, long life points.
Cryogenic tempering is a process used to improve the molecular structure in steel which in turn reduces stress and improves strength and wear resistance.
It is used in many disciplines with Formula 1 engine parts being a classic example.
Bench tests on initial samples proved to us that the new tempering processes combined with improved designs and heavy forging resulted in hooks that were 25-30% stronger than other PTFE coated carp hooks in the same wire gauge.
We subsequently sent the hooks for independent scientific testing on hardness and tensile strength and the tests carried out confirmed and supported our initial findings.
So rather than having to improve strength by simply increasing wire gauge, new manufacturing processes have allowed us to maintain optimum wire gauges for each size which allow for fine, ultra-sharp needle points which are now more durable than ever.
ESP is now delighted to introduce three new patterns into the Cryogen range, with each type having been developed, tested and 'tweaked' over the last 18 months. They have proved outstanding in field testing and provide an even greater choice in high-performance, long-lasting carp hooks.

ESP Syncro XT Loaded
The XT of Syncro literally stands for extra tough, indicating that this exceptional monofilament is highly abrasion resistant and durable.
Following its launch in 2011, the original ESP Syncro XT mono has grown to become one of the most widely used and well respected top end mainlines available.
And with very good reason, it ticks all the boxes regarding what's required from a top performing carp mono: unbeatable knot strength, optimum stretch, superb abrasion resistance without being wiry and this relative suppleness makes it a front-runner when it comes to distance casting.
Over the intervening period since the initial launch, we have carried on testing various different mono samples and have yet to find anything better than Syncro, which combined all the attributes required. However, during this testing process, we explored different colours having been asked by some of our sponsored anglers for a darker olive green.
So Syncro XT Loaded was born and the anglers that tested it for ESP have been completely sold on it.
Upon casting out it sinks through the surface film virtually unaided until it just hangs from the rod tips.
And if a slack line approach is required it stays that way, lying tight to the bottom to the extent that you can feel it peeling up off the lake bed when winding in.
The dark olive pigment disappears against any lake bed and is actually very difficult to see when suspended off the rod tips, even in tap clear water.
Regarding knot strength, just like the original Syncro XT, the new Loaded is underrated and the following knot strengths can be achieved using a carefully tied five turn grinner.
Although Syncro XT Loaded is limp straight off the spool we recommend soaking it overnight so that it absorbs water and becomes even suppler as it is loaded onto the reel spool.

ESP Butt Grip Mini
Mini Butt Grips are available in three sizes: small for abbreviated handles, medium for shrink rubber handles, and large for duplon and cork handles.
The screw fittings are machined stainless steel and the rubberoid cups have been produced from specially formulated polymers to provide optimum fit, grip and release.
These grips are neat and minimal yet provide a vice-like grip to prevent rod movement yet release easily when the rod is picked up.

ESP Ronnie Clip
The hooklink boom is commonly tied using either coated braid like Tungsten Loaded or fluorocarbon like Soft Ghost.
The tungsten sleeve serves two important functions - it secures the rig on the clip and is also the counterbalance for the pop up.
Available 0.3g and 0.6g that can be tailored to different sized hooks and hookbaits to create perfectly balanced pop up presentations.
As a rough guide the 0.3g for smaller 12-14mm pop ups and the 0.6g for 15-16mm.
Tied to the end of the hooklink boom, these clips are small and neat yet extremely strong and provide a quick change facility for Ronnie and Hinge rigs (perfect used in conjunction with the ready-made ESP Ronnie and Chod rigs).
Available in weedy green, camo brown and silt grey with 8 clips and 8 sleeves per packet.

ESP Camo Sink Link HooklinkTightly woven with a silky smooth feel and featuring alternating tones of colour which act to break up the outline of the hook link making it really inconspicuous, this provides a definite edge when fishing for pressured, rig shy carp in clear water. Although Dyneema based for maximum strength, the special combination of interwoven fibres makes this braid sink heavily and its suppleness ensures it hugs the contours of the lake bed. Perfect for a variety of presentations such as stiff/soft or reverse combi rigs when used in conjunction with a stiffer material such as Ghost fluorocarbon or for simple braided bottom bait rigs, especially on waters where stiffer materials may be treated with suspicion or for stalking at close quarters. Available in two colour ranges, camo green which blends in perfectly over weed and camo brown which is virtually invisible over gravel.Features:
