Drennan Pellet Flyer Float
Pellet Flyers - our best ever pellet waggler float! Pellet Flyers are designed for shallow pellet fishing on small to medium-sized commercial waters.
Being short and transparent, they are far less conspicuous than solid coloured-painted floats, which is a major advantage when pellet-fishing up in the water, very shallow.
The blended, streamlined shape of transparent body and base weight ensures arrow-straight casting and a single, removable disc weight allows the angler to choose how much of the fluorescent tip is showing.
Clear, plastic dive disc plus spares are supplied for each size of Pellet Flyer relevant to body diameter.
These reduce float dive to an absolute minimum, avoiding fish scare and providing instant bite detection.
Short bodied wanglers generally oscillate in flight but even the smallest 2g Pellet Flyer at just 3.5inch (90mm) flies perfectly straight and true, improving casting distance and accuracy.
Pellet Flyers are ss light and buoyant as balsa or foam bodied floats but many times stronger and more durable, cannot be line or carp damaged, so are better all-round.
Drennan AS4 Pole Float
The AS4 has been designed and developed in conjunction with five-time World Champion Alan Scotthorne.
The AS4 is perfect for depths up to 4ft (1.2m).
The substantial 2mm diameter hollow glow tip is thick enough to support larger baits and buoyant enough to allow the angler to ‘read’ the difference between proper bites and liners.
It has been produced in-house by our own engineers with many months of fine tuning using the most up-to-date and advanced computer controlled processes and machinery currently available, resulting in a beautifully consistent and reliable float. Alan has been using AS4s extensively and is very happy with them, commenting on their remarkable consistency and build quality.
The AS4 is produced in a highly buoyant, light-grade balsa then given a special coating of our super touch acrylic paint that gives each float a protective shell-like finish.
Couple this with a strong carbon stem bonded right into the body and a stainless steel spring eye located at the base of the hollow tip and this all adds up to a very strong and durable float that won’t let you down.
With its more substantial body down design and 2mm hollow tip, it is the perfect float for catching bigger carp with large hook bats such as pellets, corn, meat and worms.
A beauty of the larger 2mm glow tip is that the float is extremely visible, even when dotted down at long range.
This versatile float is ideal for many situations, be it shallow fishing in the lighter sizes to dobbing baits tight to marginal features in winter.
It is also an exceptional design for margin fishing and short-pole bagging situations!
Glow tips on AS pole floats are reinforced through the section where they join the body.
This strengthens the hollow buoyant tip at a critical point and provides an extra strong foundation for the eye.
AS floats also feature a double wound stainless steel eye mounted at the base of the tip.
Being placed here offers the mechanically strongest position without piercing the body, and risking water ingress, therefore affecting the floats performance.
Being double wound (i.e. the eye is fully round) means the line cannot get trapped and damaged as is often the case with conventional, single wound, U-shape eyes.
These special eyes are also made of blackened stainless steel to match the body, giving a more distinct demarcation line to the glow tip, so bites are easier to spot.

With the line passing directly through the fluorescent tip and body, this unique in-line design radically reduces wrap over tangles associated with shallow fishing.

Drennan Alloy Sticks are a family of four light trotting floats specifically designed for shallow, streamy river fishing in up to 5ft or 6ft (1.5m to 1.8m) depths.
They have a balsa wood body and a long aluminium stem, which acts like a keel, providing exceptional stability.

The multi-award-winning Drennan Crystal Dibber has revolutionised carp fishing in shallow water! Drennan’s unique Crystal technology was once just the domain of wagglers and running-line floats – but it has now entered the realm of pole floats!
We believe we are the only manufacturers in the world capable of ‘blow-moulding’ these super-tough pole float bodies to such a small, exacting size.
Our latest machine is even smaller than that used to create our famous Puddlechucker pellet wagglers.
An obvious advantage of a Crystal Dibber is how unobtrusive it is in clear or shallow water.
A solid-coloured pole float casts a distinct shadow and is much more visible to fish feeding up in the water or in the marginal shallows and so cannot compare to a see-through design like this.
That means a fish is less easily spooked and much more willing to venture towards your hook bait.
This is a major advantage when fishing up in the water for any species, from carp and F1s to roach and chub.
Ultimately, it will mean more bites and more fish in the net!
These floats are just as light and buoyant as balsa and more buoyant than foam, so nothing is compromised.
The short, unobtrusive design is ideal for most shallow water applications while the domed glow tip is easy to locate above the surface.
The float body is ultra tough and durable while a bonded glass stem is a good compromise between the stability of a wire stem and the extra durability of carbon.
The floats also feature a conventional looking side eye that is almost impossible to pull out in normal use.
This is thanks to a unique way of attaching it. Instead of piercing the body and being angled downwards, the side eye is actually angled upwards and cleverly fused in place between the pole float body and the fluorescent ‘cap’ of the domed tip!
In tests, these floats take on almost chameleon-like properties in the water. Some of our consultants have even commented how anglers on adjacent pegs thought they were not even using a float!
